The Trial

Both of them were young, modern and well educated. They loved and wanted to understand each other before marriage. One night she came late. An authoritative and suspicious voice rose,--" From where are you coming at late night.?"

"Some gundas raped me," Informing this, she was not looking downwards.

"Raped? What are you saying?" His enraged face was red. "I am speaking the truth," She said.

"Then, why the hell you are here? Drown yourself in a well or a pond, you characterless woman!"

"You called me characterless?" Her eyes became red out of anger, "Some gundas hurt a lady, a gentle lady; and you call her characterless. I never went to them knowingly. Last week, they had beaten you and snatched your total salary, I sympathised with you. You are a man. You could fight with them instead. And now your are scolding me?"

"Whatever it may, I cannot marry you." The man announced his decision.

"Now, you have also been tested -I would never like a coward and conservative man to become my life partner -

--I am leaving you right now." She is collecting her clothes. She is looking more beautiful at this moment and he is beholding her surprisingly.
